. During Ryan’s six-week stay in PICU at Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital, a bible verse came to his father, Mark.
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
This is the verse our family has clung to ever since. We feel that God just asks us to have faith, even though at times it can be as small as a mustard seed. On November 17, 2015 we had an online fund-raiser where we asked everyone to give $17.20 to our foundation. Within a few days, we made over $8,000. Each person gave a little and it ended up being a LOT! We are trying to get at least 1,000 families to give a monthly donation of $17.20 and that would give us the amount needed to hire and continue the research. Then, our other fund-raisers would be in addition to this amount and we could hire additional physicians and other things needed to fund our cause. Again, if many give a little, it will end up being a LOT! We are calling it Project 17:20, in honor of Matthew 17:20.
